About the Owner
Robert Jordan’s farming background started in the Salinas valley working on all facets of a family operation growing 3,000 acres of row crops and 250 acres of strawberries. While working on the ranch, Robert decided to attend Cal Poly San Luis Obispo where he received a BS in Agri Business with a minor in Viticulture. His research on reducing nitrogen infiltration into ground water was published. It was at Cal Poly that Robert was first introduced to Napa Valley wines and made his very own first batch of wine. After putting his hands through the must, he fell in love and decided he wanted to grow wine grapes.
Raised by a judge and an attorney, ethics are the driving principle by which Robert runs Grand Crew Vineyard Management. No matter what aspect of business he is dealing with, doing things right is the highest priority. When it comes to relationships, making decisions that are driven by what is right for all parties involved leads to better communication and greater trust.
Focused on long-term partnerships with land owners and wine makers, Robert has combined his skills as a vineyard manager with his large network of industry players to maximize the opportunities to grow the best grapes and make the best wines. When it comes to meeting the goals of his clients, he encourages his team to take pride in their work and together Grand Crew Vineyard Management delivers.
Robert is a Director with the Napa County Farm Bureau and a member of the Napa Valley Grape Growers Association as well as the Sonoma County Farm Bureau. He considers it a great honor to be a part of such great and diverse groups.
